| Class Schedule - Winter/Spring 2010 Soap Making Click here for Lotion making schedule Make & Take Beginners Soap Workshops (Over 16 years old only.) Learn to make handmade soap, from scratch, two ways. The workshop is taught by the owner of Spencer's Farm, a 10 year veteran soap maker who gives classes throughout the Southeast. You will learn to make cold and hot process soap, how to make your own recipes, what oils to use and why. Also, learn to handle lye safely, and all the safety precautions you should take while soaping. Learn to avoid or deal with some of the problems you may have had trying to soap on your own. Make unique and inexpensive gifts for family and friends. Soaping is an ideal hobby for anybody who wants to avoid commercial detergents and foaming chemicals in their body products, and use only pure natural ingredients. Take your creations home with you for your own use or to give for GREAT gifts. You will also receive your own set of soap making personal protection equipment (PPE) and 2 small soap molds, a list of ingredient suppliers, and an information folder including tried and true recipes.
